Manchester – The second city on our European Roadshow culinary journey…

The venue

The seccond roadshow event was held in the amazing space that is fivefourstudios in Manchester. A 1970’s warehouse transformed into a state of the art studio and events venue, fivefourstudios is set over three floors, with its own bar, outdoor area and three pure white studios. The white studios were the perfect backdrop for the Freshworks campervan, conference delegates and our Pure Punjabi food 🙂

Shopping in Manchester

Safia headed over to Altrincham Market (quickly, as it was chilly!) for some beautiful, fresh & local produce…

Set up

The campervan arrived the night before, and was guided into the beautiful main space.

The kitchen area, which was located in the stylishly moody bar upstairs (think ‘Peaky Blinders’ edgy coolness), was sectioned off to allow kitchen staff access whilst giving guests maximum privacy.

A quick late-night pow-pow took place between Safia and the Freshworks team, to check through final presentation details.

The morning of…

Emma and her team at the venue were brilliant, quickly and efficiently transforming spaces from one layout to the next as the morning progressed.

Food service

Consistency across the culinary tour was a key factor in the menu choice, and the ability to cater for all dietaries and lifestyles, as well as for the delegates coming from India who would know the difference between home-produced food and restaurant food. 

We ensured this by using our Indian meal kits and Tikka Paste, which meant that we could prepare everything in advance and then the fresh ingredients could be added, according to our instructions and supervision.

Next city… Madrid…

After a great event in Manchester, Safia headed back home with week 1 wrapped up, ready to prepare our meal kits and spices ready for week 2 and the 3rd city on the European tour…Madrid.

We are having such fun cooking from The Spice Pack Collection and all the dishes have come out brilliantly. The smell is divine and Rob, who is very fussy, is particularly impressed. All our visitors are wowed when they smell the box – we’ve been too possessive to share any with others, as yet!

As a natural therapist I particularly appreciate the healthy aspect of each dish, none of which compromise on taste. Good ingredients freshly cooked makes a big difference.

We’re going on holiday with three other couples in a couple of weeks and going to take the pack with us to cook some dishes together.
