Bhatoora bread is an incredibly popular Indian bread. It is traditionally served with chickpea dhal, (Chole), in North India. This classic Punjabi dish combination is known as Chole Bhatoore
The process starts out the same as making the roti, which is to make the atta (dough). However, after the roti (chapatti), is rolled out, instead of puffing it over heat, the circle of rolled-out dough is lowered into a deep pan/wok of hot oil. Then through a process of pressing, it is deep fryed until it puffs and inflates.
Each handy sachet serves 4 people. This gives you the opportunity to try your hand at making a small quantity of Bhatoora (known as Puri in the Hindi language). You can try and see if you can get on with the technique, without committing to buying a huge bag of atta, (chapatti flour).
If you do get on with the techniques and find you are able to produce a successful dough and manage to puff the Puri, then it would be better to purchase a large bag of atta from any Asian supermarket.
