The Pure Punjabi Online cookery course, has been beautifully and professionally filmed and edited to give you superb online tuition in the traditional cookery methods of Punjabi mother & daughter, Surinder & Safia.
Growing up in England, Surinder’s mother taught her traditional Punjabi cookery from the age of 11 years old and she was expected to cook the Indian evening meal after school as well as do the household chores and do homework.
She passed this tradition onto her daughter Safia, from about the age of 8 years old, and between them they now have over 60 years of experience in real Indian home cooking.
Pure Punjabi cookery school delivered it’s first hands-on mother-daughter style of teaching North Indian food in July 2013, but over the last three years, found the growing demand meant they they couldn’t deliver enough workshops without compromising the quality of teaching by increasing the class sizes.
In March 2016, the long and careful process of professional filming began. The recipes were painstakingly prepared for filming, which was a lengthy procedure for each dish. After almost a year, the online cookery course will be available to teach people in detail, the way that small groups learn at the workshops.

Experience over the three years of running workshops, pop-up restaurants, weddings and Safia’s own dairy allergy, meant that there was real understanding of many people’s dietary requirements and the need to cater and deliver recipes for those special dietary needs, with sympathy and without compromise on taste.
